# 7-Day DIY Local Marketing Kickstart

One small action per day. Each should take 20–40 minutes (estimate). By day 7, the basics customers rely on — your Google profile, your phone, your reviews and your follow-up — will be tidier.

Use the planning sheet (seven-day-planner.csv) to mark each day done.

## Day 1 — Fix the facts
Do: Open your Google Business Profile. Check name, phone, hours, website link and service area. Fix anything wrong. Then check the same facts on your website and Facebook page.
Done looks like: the same phone, hours and name everywhere.
Mistake to avoid: adding keywords to your business name. Use your real name.

## Day 2 — Make calling easy
Do: Open your website on your phone. Can you tap to call or text without scrolling? Send yourself a test through the contact form. Call your own number and listen to your voicemail greeting.
Done looks like: a working call button, a form that reaches you, a voicemail that says your business name and when you'll call back.
Mistake to avoid: a full voicemail box. Clear it.

## Day 3 — Photos
Do: Take 15 photos today or on your next job: before/after, your truck, your crew (with permission), equipment, a finished detail shot. Upload 5–10 of the best to your Google profile.
Done looks like: recent real photos, no stock images.
Mistake to avoid: photos with customers' house numbers, plates or faces without permission.

## Day 4 — Start asking for reviews
Do: Copy your Google review link. Save a neutral ask message (see the free Review Request Starter Pack). Send it to your last 5–10 finished customers — all of them, not just the happy ones.
Done looks like: a saved text shortcut and a habit of asking everyone.
Mistake to avoid: offering a discount for reviews. That breaks Google's rules.

## Day 5 — One place for leads
Do: Pick ONE place every inquiry goes: a sheet, notebook or app. Add your last 2 weeks of inquiries. Mark who still needs a reply.
Done looks like: you can see every open lead in one spot.
Mistake to avoid: a fancy system you won't open. Simple wins.

## Day 6 — Say clearly what you do
Do: Write 3 sentences: what you do, where, and who it's for. Use it in your Google profile description, your website's top section and your Facebook "About."
Example (pressure washing): "Driveway, house and deck washing in Broken Arrow and south Tulsa. Residential only. Free quotes by text with photos."
Example (handyman): "Small repairs, drywall patches, doors and fixtures in Sand Springs and west Tulsa. Jobs under a day. Text photos for a quote."
Done looks like: a stranger would understand your business in 10 seconds.

## Day 7 — Ask and keep
Do: Start asking every new customer "How did you hear about us?" and note it on your lead sheet. Then pick 2 things from this week to repeat weekly (most owners pick photos + review asks).
Done looks like: a 15-minute weekly routine on your calendar.
