AI PHONE ANSWERING & MISSED-CALL FOLLOW-UP

When you’re out doing the work, who’s answering the phone?

I can help you plan and set up an AI receptionist for after-hours or overflow calls, with a clear path back to you. It’s built around the jobs you take, the questions you need answered, and when a real person should step in.

Custom implementation and consultation — not a working demo or an already-running phone agent.

AI phone answering for service businesses. With boundaries.

A customer calling while you’re on a job shouldn’t have to guess what happens next. Here’s what I can scope with you.

Answer inbound calls

An after-hours or overflow receptionist can gather the basics and answer approved service questions. It tells callers they’re talking to an AI assistant.

Keep a human in reach

Agree on human takeover, routing hours and a callback fallback before setup. No emergency response promises. For immediate danger, callers should contact local emergency services, not rely on the assistant.

Follow up only with permission

Missed-call text-back is optional, only where prior permission and telecom requirements permit. A missed call alone isn’t permission for marketing texts.

Here is what happens

A possible call flow, not a live demonstration. I’ll confirm what your phone service and other tools can actually support.

  1. The call comes in

After hours or when you can’t pick up, the call follows the answering rules we agree on. The assistant says plainly that it’s AI, not a person.

  2. It asks the useful questions

Your caller can share their name, callback number, service needed, location and timeframe. Questions stay within your approved services and boundaries.

  3. A person takes over when needed

An urgent or unusual request can go to an agreed human contact when available. If nobody can answer, it takes a callback request. On errors, it falls back to a clear voicemail or callback path.

  4. You decide the next step

Review the request and follow up. A calendar or CRM connection may help, if your tools support it. A request isn’t a confirmed booking unless the agreed availability and approval rules are met.

Try a simulated call

Click through a sample after-hours call. It’s a script, not a live assistant.

Simulated demo · not a real phone line

This is a scripted example. No call is placed, nothing is booked, and nothing you click here is saved or sent.

  1. AI assistant (demo)Thanks for calling Example Co. I'm an AI assistant, not a person. The team's out on jobs right now. Can I grab a few details so someone can call you back?

Clear expectations before anything goes live.

  • Caller disclosure: the greeting identifies the AI. If calls are recorded, recording is disclosed and required consent is obtained. I’ll confirm provider controls and applicable requirements with you before setup.
  • Texting boundaries: prior permission, a clear opt-out, required sender registration and applicable telecom rules come first. No unsolicited bulk texts or outbound cold texting.
  • Limited intake: collect only what’s useful for a callback. We’ll agree on access, retention and what not to collect with your provider; don’t ask callers for payment details or sensitive information.
  • Human fallback: unusual requests, uncertainty or errors go to a person or a clear callback/voicemail path. Human availability is agreed, not guaranteed around the clock.
  • No perfect-results promise: AI can misunderstand people, connections can fail, and callers can hang up. I don’t promise every lead is saved, 100% accuracy or job bookings.

What does it cost?

Custom quote based on call minutes, routing and integrations.

Third-party phone/AI usage and messaging charges are separate and explained before setup.

I’ll need to confirm your phone service, call volume, human routing and any calendar or CRM connections before quoting. This is a separately scoped service, not included by default in any website package. There’s no free operation or trial being offered.
